Grease monkey

Ah, the father and son bonds over car maintenance. Papa looks surprisingly happy after shearing off a wheel stud. Usually Lennox refuses to get his hands dirty, but when it comes to car work, he loves grease, oil, rust, and dirt.

P--eek-a-boo

Lennox is clowning around again....playing peek-a-boo and putting his head through the letter P.

First flick

Ol' Nox decided he was interested in his first full length motion picture. Mama and Papa aren't movie buffs, but they made their annual trek to the cinema for an afternoon of fun and delight.

Lennox sat on a booster seat through the entire film and was well behaved....minus the several outbursts of "bear, monkey, nothing, bug, tiger, etc..." He is still talking about the bear movie.

Lennox gives this film 2 thumbs up.

Family bonding

Lennox finally appears to be warming up to his cousin, Jamison. Their most recent get-together last week was full of fun, with a trip to the petting zoo and some climbing on the playground afterward.


We learned 2 things on this outing that we would like to share:

1. If you want a goat to eat your shoelaces, head to Centennial Park in Champaign. Those are the most aggressive goats I have ever encountered at a petting zoo. I had to wrestle Lennox's shirt and my shorts and shoelaces out of their mouths.

2. Try to avoid McDonald's play lands if at all possible. After the park we stopped by a McD's for a drink. I reluctantly let Lennox charge into the play area, but when I had to go in after him, I found out just how dirty it is in there. Yuck. If you do go there, hand sanitizer is a must afterward.

Tractor ride

Lennox learned about life on the farm last weekend
when Pawpaw gave him a tractor ride.

At first he seemed a little nervous.

But then they headed down the road.

And by the time they got back ...

'Nox was all smiles.

He also liked checking out the old red tractor in the shed.
He's still talking about the "big" and "baby" tractors.

Piano man

Lennox is trying to catch up to Mozart, but it's a pretty tough act to follow.

Toot, toot!

Lennox loves the train table at the library. He'd play there all day if he could.

Swimming skillz

After seeing the best at the Olympic trials, Lennox realized it was high time he got busy on his swimming skills. Here he is working it out in the tub.

Omaha Olympic Trials

Well, good ol' Nox has managed to find his way to Nebraska. Why Nebraska, you ask? The 2008 Olympic Swimming Trials. We are having a blast out here in Omaha. So far we have witnessed 3 World Records (WR) and several American Records (AR). Lennox loves all of the music and activity at the Qwest Center. We even saw Brendan Hansen and Mark Spitz in person. Wow!Cullen Jones, 50 free American Record holder is staying at our hotel. We hope he is not next door, as Lennox has not adjusted to the pack-n-play quite yet. More photos to follow....
