Egg hunt

To be honest, Lennox is getting a little too good at the annual Sullivan Easter egg hunt. He gets lots of practice hunting for plastic eggs in our basement, and he went through egg-hunt boot camp right before we set out for the park for the real hunt. I'm not sure if any actual cheating went on this year, but I'm certain Lennox had the largest cheering section in attendance. He was dancing through the course with joy after nabbing a "big money" plastic egg.

Fistulated cow? No problem

We were quite surprised and impressed when Lennox was willing to milk a cow and then don a giant plastic glove and stick his hand inside the fistulated cow at Vet Med Open House earlier this month.

If you're not familiar with the U of I's famous fistulated cow, it has a hole in its side where you can see all the half-eaten grass making its way through various stages of digestion. You can put your hand in and caress the greens. It's pretty gross.

When we were there, the cow shuddered and shook part of its half-eaten meal all over Uncle Brent. "Wow, that smells horrible!" he said. We explained to him that it was because a giant glob had landed on his face right next to his nose. Nice!

As a reward for his bravery, Lennox took a post-cow trip to the library to meet Super Why. Alpha Pig was supposed to be there, too, but he was sick. Rats! He's the one I really wanted to meet.

Goofing around

If Lennox sees a pair of sunglasses, he will grab them and put them on. He loves to show off his "movie star" look. Here he is clowning around with Mama and Papa, with and without shades.

Mead Maniac

Well, Lennox went to watch Mead and the Sullivan basketball team upset the #1 team in the state on Sullivan's senior night. What a game! Lennox was very popular in the Mead Maniac gear. Before he went to bed that night, he said, "papa, I'm a Mead maniac."

Go Iliini

Lennox has been tuned into Illini basketball this year. Last weekend he saw some Illini oldies take on players from the Sullivan area in a much anticipated matchup. Notree (49 pts.) even signed his shirt.

Thank you!

Lennox & Co. wanted to let Jen, Jeremy, Aidan and Ethan know how much he has enjoyed the Play-Doh set you gave him. He wouldn't even look up from his work long enough to smile for the camera. Thanks, guys! Hope to see you as soon as we have furniture. When will that be? Just don't move from the area anytime soon.

Playing dress-up

Here's Nox in 2 of his crazier getups. The chicken hat is very important. It is the "prize" when Lennox and Papa race in the basement. Whoever wins the race gets to wear the chicken hat in the next heat.

Favorite things

One of Lennox's favorite Christmas gifts was this Lightning McQueen umbrella from Grandma Sue and Grandpa Bob. He wishes it would rain more so he could use it again.
